Dinese Murray, the Founder and President of Literacy Approaches holds a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education, and another Master of Science degree in Literacy Education. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. For over twenty years she has worked with a range of schools, colleges and educational programs nationwide. She has served as a teacher for grades K-6, a literacy teacher, a new teacher mentor, and literacy staff developer for the New York City Board of Education. In DeSoto, Texas she served as a teacher and was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Texas state Senator Royce West for developing and coordinating the Literacy Enhancement After-School program for students in DeSoto, Texas. For North Carolina Public Schools she has worked as a teacher, curriculum facilitator, new teacher mentor, district-wide Intervention Team Member for school improvement, as well as a district-wide literacy trainer for teachers. Dinese has also served as an adjunct reading and English college instructor. Dinese has served as a curriculum consultant for a Shawnee Christian Academy in Tobbyhanna, Pennsylvania. She has participated in district and state level committees helping to publish documents that have been widely used by educators across the nation.
As principal literacy consultant, Dinese will provide intensive support by identifying areas of teaching and learning which require development and draw up a literacy plan to help schools reach their goals.
